I’ve been consistently doing cardio every morning and sometimes my usual green juice of celery, kale, and collard greens just doesn’t satisfy.
So this morning I experimented with Chia seeds, a superfood packed with omega 3s and other good stuff.
I’d soaked a cup of Chia seeds overnight in filtered water, watching them grow (somewhat reminiscent of those commercials from the 80s and 90s – ch ch ch Chia! – except these are edible, turn jelly-like, and don’t sprout into a strange pet tree).
Then I chopped up a fresh mango, added a full banana, some ice, and Fiji spring water. Adding the soaked Chia seeds into the mix, I blended well, et voila!
Superfood smoothie that’s hearty, healthy, and makes for a perfectly portable aprés-cardio brekkie.
