Admittedly, I jumped on the airbnb bandwagon rather late for a self-proclaimed wanderluster, but boy am I glad that I finally did. My last experience was most memorable, and it’s made me an airbnbeliever (for lack of a better term).
Katy greeted me warmly, and patiently waited for me to finish my first cup of mint tea to welcome me to Marrakech. We walked over to her gated modern apartment complex, which she shares with her boyfriend, located in the heart of Gueliz – Marrakech’s modern city center.
Katy knew the ins and outs of Marrakech like a true local, with an obvious passion for travel and authentic experiences. Highlights of my Marrakech mini-holiday included a local hammam Katy recommended, where I was treated like royalty with a bath and a massage, as well as a restaurant nearby that served the local tasty dish known as Tangia I was also lucky enough to catch a big football (soccer) match between Germany and Morrocco with Katy and her friends at a hip Gueliz bar.
I look forward to returning to Morocco someday, and staying with Katy again.
