The highlight of my recent weekend stint in Colorado was climbing with the extraordinary and inspiring Kathy Karlo, author of for the love of climbing – musings on rock climbing as a metaphor for life and love.

Together with Micah Day – founder of Colorado-based climbing company Hummingbird Mountain Gear – we explored Boulder Canyon for the day and hiked, scrambled and climbed our way up beautiful, pine-forested crag.

We ended the day with a little bit of crack climbing and chocolate chip cookies.  Colorado life really doesn’t get any better than this.
