I’m always on the lookout for a good flight bargain, so when I saw a round-trip flight to Chicago from New York for $154 over Labor Day Weekend, I booked without hesitation.
Chicago is best known for its architecture, and its skyline did not disappoint (though my photos really don’t do it justice). While I didn’t have a chance to partake in the highly recommended architecture boat tour this time around, I did indulge in a local food tour of sorts, sampling some of Chitown’s finest frozen delights:
See exhibit A (above) featuring The Gage’s violet sorbet paired with vanilla ice cream and exhibit B (below) featuring Freshii’s frozen kefir topped with shredded coconut and fresh blueberries. Yum.
Of course no visit to Chicago would be complete without a selfie @ The Bean in Millennium Park:
Where to stay:
I was thoroughly impressed with my 4-star stay @ Loews O’Hare for an outrageous bargain of $110/night plus taxes.
Hotels geared towards business travelers tend to slash prices over the weekend, so make sure to take advantage of these gems! Also, make sure to catch their phenomenal breakfast buffet, offered up daily for under $25:
And take a moment to soak in beautiful sunrises from your hotel room:
