My long stroll through Santiago culminated with a visit to the Parque Metropolitano (aka Cerro San Cristobal), where I took in amazing panoramic views:
A funicular climbs 284m to the top of Santiago’s largest green space, where a snowy white monument-esque Virgen de la Immaculada towers over the city:
Try the sweet mote drink at one of the hilltop cafés while taking in sweeping views of Santiago. Or better yet, pack a picnic to enjoy on top (my snack of choice was fresh, ripe strawberries).
