A cloudy Columbus Day made for decent conditions to undertake a 5 mile hike on hilly terrain in humid weather.

We missed the sun, but still managed to take in some rewarding views after climbing up to the top of Bull Hill in the Hudson Highlands:

Fall foliage hasn’t quite peaked, but it sure is pretty. So is this collection of cairns we passed by during our stroll:

Next week just might be the beginning of peak for leaf peepers in the NYC area.
