Less than an hour away from Manhattan, Pocantico Hills offers the perfect escape from New York for an epic day hike.

Part of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve, the 5.7 mile Pocantico River Trail features quaint old carriage roads, pristine streams, and sweet, succulent wineberries just asking to be foraged:

To get here by train, take Metro-North to Tarrytown,  and cab over to Gory Brook Road in nearby Sleepy Hollow.

Make sure to pack a picnic, two liters of water, bug spray, sunscreen, a camera to capture picture perfect moments, a spare shirt to change into aprés-hike, and some Tupperware to store any wineberries you pick along the way!
