Yesterday marked the peak of fall foliage in the Gunks, as well as my first hanging belay and bomber gear anchor.

After on-sighting the first pitch of Asphodel (5.5), I backed myself up on a #4 BD nut as I hung out on a ledge and equalized three points held by a .4 BD X4 cam, .3 BD X4 cam, .3 Alien, and 7mm cordelette.

It was momentous for me, as I learned to trust my pro and understand advanced anchor techniques to add to my ever-growing toolbox of trad climbing knowledge.

Thanks to my climbing partner and newest mentor Paul for taking me out and teaching me all about equalettes and cordelettes!
